ADVICE TO PARENTS
For advice and guidance on local children's football, contact one or more of the following:
1. Your Local Authority Sport & Recreation Department
2. Your Local County Football Association
3. Your Child's School
4. Local Youth Team Managers - use POWER SEARCH on the Links Home page

                              PROFESSIONAL CLUB ACADEMIES

Parents:
Professional Club Academies should not be contacted directly.
If you believe that your child has exceptional ability then the first step is to make sure that they are registered with a local league team because pro-club scouts will only assess a potential young player within the local league environment.

Youth Coaches
If there is a development structure within your league, eg: county team, then it is the responsibility of the county coach to identify any potential talent, otherwise, the following procedure should be adopted:
1. Email a relevant professional club (do not telephone directly), and provide the following information:
** Your role within the club, full contact details, name of team, age group (ie: under 12, etc), league, the player's name, age, dob, team colours, shirt number, position, and a list of at least 6 games/locations/times where that particular player will be playing.

The club may, or may not, confirm any scouting mission - but under no circumstances should you chase up any enquiry - clubs on average receive 200 - 300 such enquiries per year.

Club Scouts - under no circumstances should any scout or club representative approach a child or youth player directly
- you must initially speak to the official club manager and the legal parent or guardian.
If you witness any direct approach to a child/youth player, then intervene and inform the appropriate club & premier or football league (governing bodies for the academy and centre of excellence schemes).
